The purpose of this site is to serve as a helpful and informative tool regarding township business for our Canton Township residents and taxpayers. As this site continues to develop, you will find up to date meeting minutes, township budget information, Fire and Road department information, an online copy of the Canton Township Zoning Resolution with zoning forms and park information including pavilion and athletic field rental/reservation forms. Trustees approved Girl Scout Troops from Walker Elementary and Faircrest Memorial Middle School to clean up along Canton Township streets on Sunday, April 28, 2013.+ Read More

Trustees approved applying for a grant for lighting at the Canton Township Community Park on Oyer Street, SE for the basketball courts.+ Read More

April 9th 2013 Nuisances

The Trustees approved deeming the following properties as nuisances and ordered them abated per R.C. 505.86 and/or 505.173 and the Canton Township Property Maintenance.+ Read More

Trustees approved using Russ Kiko Associates, Auctioneers, to sell equipment and vehicles of the Canton Township Fire Department at an auction to be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at 5:30pm at Fire Station No. 4 located at 3525 Lincoln Street East.+ Read More

Appraisal of Fire Department Property

Trustees approved getting 2 appraisals of the Fire Department property located at 3525 Lincoln Street East; one appraisal for the property “as is”, and one appraisal for the property as a vacant lot.+ Read More

Waco Homecoming Parade

Trustees approved participating in the Waco Volunteer Fire Department Homecoming Parade to be held on Thursday, May 2, 2013.+ Read More

Roads Closed for Canton South “Wildcat Run”

The Trustees approved closing the following roads on Saturday, April 27th from 7:00am to 10:00am which is the race route for the Annual Canton South Wildcat Run.+ Read More

City of Massillon Firefighters Training at Former Amos McDannel School

Fire Chief Scott McKibben informed the Board the entire City of Massillon Fire Department is being trained by Canton Township Fire personnel at the Amos McDannel facility.+ Read More

Ironwood Property Deemed a Nuisance

The Board declared 317 Ironwood St SE a nuisance, as deemed by Zoning Director Jonathan Smith, and will have it abated per Ohio Revised Code 505.173 and/or 505.87, and the Canton Township Property Maintenance Code.+ Read More

Property To Be Demolished

The Board approved entering into an agreement with the Stark County Land Reutilization Corporation (SCLRC) through the Stark County Regional Planning Commission for the demolition of 349 Hollywood Ave NE.+ Read More

Assignment of Township Ball Fields:

The Board assigned the township ball fields for the 2013 season as follows: Canton South Girls Fastpitch Softball assigned to Abbott Field and Mikunda Field and the Canton South Boys Baseball assigned to Hamilton Field and Hayhurst Field.+ Read More

Rental of Gym and Various Rooms at the Amos McDannel Facility:

The Trustees, Fiscal Officer and Department Heads discussed the possibility of renting the gym and various other rooms at the Amos facility.+ Read More

Former North Industry School has been sold at Auditor’s sale. It was purchased by Paul Berry of Youngstown, Ohio. Assessments lost by the township amounts to approximately $11,877.75.+ Read More

The Board approved the hiring of Cadet Firefighter/Medic Kenneth Andrzejczyk to the Fire Department Paid-per-Call staff, pending passing physical exam and background check.+ Read More
