Zoning permits must be obtained prior to construction or placement onto any property within Canton Township for all of the following (but is not limited to):  new construction, accessory buildings (sheds), decks, porches, patios, private swimming pools (in or above ground), attached or detached garages, signs (including portable signs), additions to structures, and new businesses.  Failure to obtain a permit will result in a $50.00 fine plus permit fees.  If unsure, call the Canton Township Zoning Department prior to building or improving.
